Questions
Is the PROLED MacBook Pro faster than the mini-LED one?
No. Both use the same M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, so the same chip, memory and storage perform the same. The difference is the screen, touch, Dynamic Island and weight.
How much more does PROLED cost?
New from Apple, $400 more than the mini-LED MacBook Pro with the same chip, memory and storage. It starts at $2,899 (14-inch) and $3,399 (16-inch).
Does it work with Apple Pencil?
No. The screen takes finger touch only.
When can I buy one?
Pre-orders opened Oct 28. It reaches stores and the first customers on Friday, Nov 6.
Will it be cheaper on Black Friday?
Possibly a little at Amazon, Best Buy or B&H, but brand-new Macs rarely get deep discounts in their first month. Best Buy's $100 gift card is the only launch offer so far.
When will used or refurbished ones appear?
A few sealed units resell on eBay right away, usually above list price. Open-box units should start around Nov 21, once Best Buy's 15-day return window closes. Apple's own refurbished store usually takes months.
